How to troubleshoot wi-fi connection issues on your phone.

We constantly have a few challenges when using our computers or phones, and one of those concerns is difficulty with our Wi-Fi connection. It’s either a hardware or a software problem, and it can be aggravating at times. This is where troubleshooting comes into play. Troubleshooting means finding and fixing a problem in a mechanical or electrical system. This is why troubleshooting our Wi-Fi is critical; it allows us to run diagnostics (tracing and rectification) to determine the source of the problem.

These are a few methods one can try in case they are experiencing problems with their Wi-Fi connection or internet access.

Step 1: Check your Wi-Fi settings.

We are here to verify if our Wi-Fi is turned on or not, as this is one of the difficulties that may cause a limited internet connection.

To do so, launch the “Settings” app on your phone. When you open settings, you will notice a section labeled “Wi-Fi Settings.” Click on it. After clicking on it, you are given the option of turning it on or off.

If it’s turned off, turn it on. When the Wi-Fi is turned off, you have no internet connection. However, if your Wi-Fi is turned on and you still cannot connect to the internet, we proceed to step two.

Step 2: Restart your phone.

Restarting your phone may be beneficial because it may have failed to boot properly.

To restart your phone, hold down the power button until you see a pop-up notification asking if you want to shut it down or restart it. Go ahead and hit the restart button. This procedure should take no more than three minutes.

When the phone finally restarts, check to see if your Wi-Fi is still operational. If not, we proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Reset Network Settings

Your network settings determine what and how your device may connect to the Internet. These settings can occasionally become corrupted, rendering your device unable to connect to anything in its vicinity.

Fortunately, you can always reset the network settings. This will not remove any apps, photographs, or other data from your device. It will only delete your saved Wi-Fi passwords and other connection data.

It will also most likely assist your Android device in connecting to the internet. So here are the steps to take:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Android.

  2. Scroll to and tap either “General management” or “System,” depending on what device you have.

  3. Tap either “Reset” or “Reset options.”

  4. Tap the words “Reset network settings.”

  5. You’ll have to confirm that you want to reset your network settings. Do so.

The gadget will reboot. When this happens, your network settings will be cleared and reset.

If none of the above work, the problem could be with your internet service provider (ISP), and you should contact them for more assistance.

So the procedures above should assist you in troubleshooting your phone’s Wi-Fi connection. When you’re having problems with your internet connections, it’s crucial not to jump to conclusions. Follow the above procedures in the exact order; skipping any step might be harmful and may result in technical issues that you did not have previously.
